Composite Symbology
The International Symbology Specification was developed by
AIM, Inc., the worldwide trade association for manufacturers and providers of automatic
identification and data collection (AIDC), products, services and supplies.
Composite Symbology, which incorporates a linear component
with a two-dimensional composite component, helps address supply chain applications not
being met currently. It will allow for the co-existence of symbologies already being used
and can be supported by both laser - and imaging based scanning equipemnt. By using a
linear component as a finder pattern for the 2D composite component, scanning performance
can be enhanced.
